Lifting up Jesus or Self?

"It is better to have nothing but a dry piece of bread to eat than a whole house full of food with everyone arguing." Proverbs 17:1

"Forgive someone and you will strengthen your friendship, keep reminding them and you will destory it." Proverbs 17:9

Jesus said if I be lifted up I will draw all men to Myself. John 12 This is where TRUE forgiveness is found, received and able to be distrubuted. This is where TRUE humility is revealed, the ONLY OBEDIENT SON OF GOD suffering for me, pardoning me, justifying me, pierced for MY rebellion, crushed for MY sin, beaten so I could be made whole and whipped so I could be healed.

Have I been liften up myself with Jesus as a tag line bringing glory, attention and praise to me? Heaven forbid, when and if this occurs may I confess, repent and find myself as Isaiah, WOE for me I am a man of unclean lips!

No flesh will glory in HIS presence, for when we lift up Jesus and HIS mighty CROSS, humility, love, redemption, grace and mercy are revealed by the Spirit that raised HIM from the grave. The Bread and Blood, have a supped with my Saviour at HIS table? No complaints, murmuring or ill will here, gratitude, peace and thanksgiving to HIM for bringing me to HIS feast.

Unforgiveness will hinder every area of our hearts and lives. There is no release or unity until we lay before the Cross of Christ in open confession, Godly sorrow and repentance that leads to life!

At The Name of Jesus Every Knee Will Bow and Tongue Confess He is Lord To The Glory of God The Father....

Have I confessed Jesus is Lord without bowing my knee and heart in humility?

Confessing Christ with a puffed up heart is an empty, vain confession whereby nothing can be built upon this founation. In this arena, man desires to be to hero using Jesus as a tag line to get there. The Pharisees loved the praise of men more than the praise of God, whose praise am I seeking, man or God? Not just in my christianese babble but in my heart and witness of my life? In Word and Deed.

God gives grace to the humble but resists the proud. Has the cross humbled me to grow in admiration of God's love through Christ revealed by the Holy Spirit. Unforgiveness is rooted in ignorance and unbelief of gaining true understanding of what we have done against God in sin and what HE did in CHRIST to atone, forgive and justify wicked man.

The Cross will grow us in admiration, gratitude, thanksgiving and praise for HIS great salvation of pardoning such a one as me, HIS resurrection will give us peace to agree with HIS WORD that safety is found in trusting, following and obeying JESUS for outside of CHRIST there is no shelter, refuge or rest!

We need BREAD and BLOOD, thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, that I may know HIM and the power of HIS resurrection and fellowship of HIS sufferings. The BREAD and BLOOD is where we find LIFE, commune with JESUS today in light of HIS great mercy made new this morning!

Why are you laboring? For A House Made By Man, Eat Food Which Perishes?

"Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you" John 6:27

”I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world." The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?" Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. "For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. "This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever." John 6:51-58

Hunger and Thirst For Jesus!

The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

The fear of man brings a snare....Proverbs 29:25

Fear of man will trap you into a sense of false hope built on a sandy foundation of real despair but a righteous fear of the Holy One will drive you to the Cross where we should be trembling, yet our judgment is paid through the bloody and beaten body of Jesus Christ and now a RISEN Savior stands at the right hand of God the Father saying come boldly to the throne of grace, you have been given mercy in your time of need.

If nothing can separate you from the love of God which is Christ Jesus (Romans 8) and if God be for you who can oppose you?

What is your conversation, murmur, worry or anxiety? Why are you laboring? For A House Made By Man(Sandcastle)? A Car Driven By Celebrity(Horses and Chariots)? Eat Food Which Perishes(Goes to Sewer Main)?

"Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you" John 6:27

"At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 18:1-10

The Goodness of The Lord....

Yesterday afternoon I was visiting with a young man who comes by the house every morning. I mentioned the goodness and faithfulness of The Lord and he said HE is good because HE spanks me and disciplines me when I need it. He is 13.

"My son if your heart is wise, my heart will rejoice, yes my inmost being will rejoice when you speak right things" Proverbs 23:15-16

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." Psalm 23

May our ears be open our hearts teachable/humble and wills submitted to our GOOD and GREAT SHEPHERD wherever HE leads the pasture is GOOD even if peril is all around, we feast on HIM, the BREAD of life and BLOOD of forgiveness, grace and mercy!

Lead Us Jesus.....

Create a pure heart, clean hands, renew a steadfast spirit in our inmost being, may truth dwell in the inward parts for YOUR NAME's sake! May unforgiveness, unbelief, pride, envy, jealousy, bitterness, all malice be put away as we receive the Bread of Life, Christ Himself.

The Secret?

"To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed;Let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions;
According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord. Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. For Your name’s sake, O Lord, Pardon my iniquity, for it is great. Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself shall dwell in prosperity, And his descendants shall inherit the earth. The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant. My eyes are ever toward the Lord, For He shall pluck my feet out of the net. Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me, For I am desolate and afflicted. The troubles of my heart have enlarged; Bring me out of my distresses! Look on my affliction and my pain, And forgive all my sins. Consider my enemies, for they are many; And they hate me with cruel hatred. Keep my soul, and deliver me; Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
For I wait for You."

Has the fear of the Lord and desperation to be forgiven driven you to utter hopelessness where we have seen our iniquity, sin, wickedness is so great yet THE CROSS is offered, pardon provided, peace received, love granted and mercy bestowed. A Risen Advocate, have you taken anyone to the Tree of Your Salvation where perfect love towards you fulfilled in Christ Jesus cast out real fear of dread, condemnation and judgment?

Am I forgiven and released from judgment? Has this salvation truly humbled me that every way outside of Christ is death and only in HIM is life, peace and righteousness?

Walk In The Spirit andl Not Fulfill The Lust of The Flesh....

“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20

“For HE has made HIM, who knew no sin, to be sin for us; that we might be made the righteousness of God in HIM.” II Corinthians 5:21

”Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1

"For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if
righteousness come by the law, then Christ died in vain. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:19-21

Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, that I may know HIM and the power of HIS resurrection and fellowship of HIS sufferings.

Jesus said, follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.

A fisherman is hopeful for a catch, are you hopeful souls are won to the kingdom of Christ? Are you calling people to repent and believe the Good News?

If I haven't repented and believed the Good News, I will not call others to Christ either. You can call people to many things yet they still be dead in their sin, you can call them to 'good works', abandon certain behaviors, remove themselves from particular company, call them to a church meeting, a small group class, baptism, attending functions at a religious building, yet never call them to Jesus Christ Himself.

Apart from Christ we can do nothing! We can pile up 'dirty rags' of religious duties and be completely empty, destitute, full of dead men's bones. There are fruits of Christ that will be manifested and evident if we are in Him, have received forgiveness and know that God has accepted us due to HIS Son's sacrifice and Risen advocacy alone. Fruit of loving God will all we are, being devoted to Christ, fruit of a deep, abiding, eternal love for others first the brethren and even our enemies, a power to forgive our worst enemy for in Christ we were forgiven of a debt that no mortal enemy could put towards us in comparison to our transgression, iniquity and the pardon, suffering and salvation offered by the Lamb of God, we will admit faults, confess sin for we have an Advocate, our judgment and condemnation will be reduced and our capacity by God's Spirit for forgiving and mercy will increase, we will grow in humility and meekness depending on Christ more as HE proves to be faithful to HIS flock as HE gives us wisdom and understanding how HE is reconciling all things by the blood of HIS cross and our part of HIS work in this process.

So, are you fishing for men, rejoicing when one sinners repents or compiling a resume of dead, religious works believing that somehow this will help your vindication before the Lord?

Has Christ caught you, bought you. cleansed you and accepted you based on HIS merits alone? Have you found rest in HIM?

Many Teachers, Few Fathers.....

"Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God. Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it? You are already full! You are already rich! You have reigned as kings without us—and indeed I could wish you did reign, that we also might reign with you! For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored! To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless. And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now. I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you. For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, imitate me. For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church. Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?" I Corinthians 4

The lie of Satan in Genesis 3, "a tree desirable to make one wise".

"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes" Proverbs 12:15

"There is more hope for a fool than for people who think they are wise" Proverbs 26:12

"There is no wisdom, nor counsel or understanding against the counsel of God" Proverbs 21:30

:See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority" Colossians 2:8-10
