Foundations for Living.....

"And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men? For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not mere men? What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS”; and again, “THE LORD KNOWS THE REASONINGS of the wise, THAT THEY ARE USELESS.” So then let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you, and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God." I Corinthians 3

Thanks Be To God Who Gives Us The Victory Through Our Lord Jesus Christ!

After reading I Corinthians 3 yesterday with several young men, may we start the day in thanksgiving, praise and gratitude for the GREAT salvation, revival and blessing for and from our Heavenly Father through HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. Are we content and in HIS joy, peace and grace for if we look away it will not take long for jealousy and strife to enter in and raise its head tearing apart friendships, relationships and potential opportunities to glorify God. Jealousy and strife are the tools of our wicked hearts which Satan plants angry, covetousness seeds coming to a bitter end of fruit that will rot our stomach and poison others along the way. We planted a garden with seed from God, water from God and God provided a harvest. Yesterday we picked many squash, zucchini, cucumbers and a few eggplant. If we don't get the harvest to hungry souls by God's grace, it will rot and be ruined. Has God given me a harvest of grace, mercy and love yet because of my slothfulness, indifference and selfishness it is spoiling in my presence? What seeds that enter us are the fruit the world will eat. God gives us open, tender, teachable, humble hearts to receive the Word of Christ, watered by YOUR LIVING FOUNTAIN and produce food whereby others can taste and see the Lord is Good! Jesus has never done us wrong and man never did Jesus right. If strife, jealousy and unforgiveness have gripped my heart, may I shut my mouth, go to my face and pray for mercy toward my Advocate, drinking in the very blood of HIS forgiveness and eating Bread of HIS grace and love!

Hard Or Soft Soil For God's Seed?

Am I open to God's word, receiving it with meekness? Has God's love through Christ humbled me and is the Spirit of Christ continuing to create humility yielding the peaceable fruit of righteousness where others can taste and see the fruit of Jesus? HIS love is humbling and overwhelming, HIS salvation, mercy and grace deeper than the deepest sea, HIS forgiveness is the only way we can truly be free to love HIM and others. What foundation are we building on? Some youth mocked Elisha and it turned out bad for them and 40 more. II Kings 2:24. When I mock or scoff at God's Word or authority, when I always want to be heard but do not desire to listen, I am taking a shovel and digging a pit for my self, going deeper into darkness all alone. If you are a scoffer or mocker, you will find yourself bearing your own sin and burdens alone wondering why no one will get close to you, no one desires to be your friend and blame everyone for their wrong perception of you having not true understanding of who you are in Christ or outside of Christ. We covered this Monday with the young men in foundations on I Corinthians 3 and will keep this ever before us. It is for ME, my meat and drink must be of Jesus and His Word, lest I perish.

“He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself,
And he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself.
Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you;
Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser;
Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For by me your days will be multiplied,
And years of life will be added to you.
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself,
And if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”

Proverbs 9:7-12

Lord, create in me a humble heart, a teachable spirit unto THY Word and Will, the seed of pride must die as the seed of Christ is raised to reveal YOUR life, for apart from YOU I have no life yet in YOU and through YOU I can do all things, thanks be to God who gives me the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, thank YOU for YOUR great salvation, for redeeming my soul, giving me forgiveness and loving me, may I know YOU JESUS and the power of YOUR resurrection and fellowship of YOUR sufferings, AMEN!

"The Lord Will Not Allow The Righteous Soul to Famish but HE casts away the desire of the wicked." Proverbs 10:9

“If you continue in MY word, then you are MY disciples indeed, and you will know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32

Lord Jesus may we allow Your resurrection power to dwell and reign in our hearts, that we may fellowship in Your sufferings, rejoicing always and again I say rejoice. Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! May we continue on going where we are called not going where we are comfortable for in YOU and through YOUR SPIRIT we are greatly comforted!

"The fear of the wicked will come upon him and the desire of the righteous will be granted. When the whirlwind passes by the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation." Proverbs 10:24-25

Prepare for the whirlwind!

Sing a Joyful Song and Make a Joyful Noise to Our Lord...

Am I looking at what I don't have, what is not right or looking at what God did for me in Christ to provide me everything that pertains to life and godliness? Condemnation or Salvation, Praising the Darkness or Worshiping the Light, The Garden of Eden or Garden of Gethsemane, Paradise Lost or God's Kingdom Restored in Christ Jesus, Pity or Praise?

What a pardon, what salvation. Growing in grace is truly growing in joy, expanding the borders of peace in our hearts and the beauty of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ! HIS song in us grows stronger, HIS redemption and love shines brighter, HIS mercy flows greater!

Has the whirlwind in you caused the storms in your own home? Confess, repent and allow God's peace to rule and reign in your hearts! We must not nor can blame, for when I blame, the dead are condemning the dead. Get to life which is only found in Christ Jesus alone!

Thanks Be To God Who Gives Us The Victory Through Our Lord Jesus Christ!

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12

That I may know JESUS and the power of HIS resurrection and fellowship of HIS sufferings!

All Paths Do Lead To God....Do Not Be Deceived....

There are simply two responses - Enter In or Depart From Me. JESUS the CHRIST is the only True and Living God and ALL authority has been given to HIM and all things are subject to HIM.

Praise be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. That I may know HIM and the power of HIS resurrection and fellowship of HIS sufferings.

Root of Complaining...

"The righteous eats to the satisfying of the his soul, but the stomach of the wicked shall be in want." Proverbs 13:25

Are you growing in grace and gratitude or growing in pride and prejudice?

For all God did for us in Christ it is unlawful for us to complain and murmur. How is one ever going to suffer for righteousness sake when one complains that their petty demands are not met, there vain stomach not filled with the delicacies of this world?

How often do you turn your nose away at something, look down on someone(gossip or slander) or complain because you are not satisfied?

Sing a Joyful Song and Make a Joyful Noise to Our Lord...

Am I looking at what I don't have, what is not right or looking at what God did for me in Christ to provide me everything that pertains to life and godliness? Condemnation or Salvation, Praising the Darkness or Worshiping the Light, The Garden of Eden or Garden of Gethsemane, Paradise Lost or God's Kingdom Restored in Christ Jesus, Pity or Praise?

May Our Hearts Be Humbly, Pliable To Correction and Our Minds Be Renewed in The Steadfast Mercy of Jesus.....

A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.

The tongue of the wise utters knowledge rightly, but the mouth of the [self-confident] fool pours out folly.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch upon the evil and the good.

A gentle tongue [with its healing power] is a tree of life, but willful contrariness in it breaks down the spirit.

A fool despises his father’s instruction and correction, but he who regards reproof acquires prudence.

In the house of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is great [priceless] treasure, but with the income of the wicked is trouble and vexation.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge [sifting it as chaff from the grain]; not so the minds and hearts of the self-confident and foolish.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination, hateful and exceedingly offensive to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is His delight!

The way of the wicked is an abomination, extremely disgusting and shamefully vile to the Lord, but He loves him who pursues righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation).

There is severe discipline for him who forsakes God’s way; and he who hates reproof will die [physically, morally, and spiritually]. Sheol (the place of the dead) and Abaddon (the abyss, the final place of the accuser Satan) are both before the Lord—how much more, then, the hearts of the children of men?

A scorner has no love for one who rebukes him; neither will he go to the wise [for counsel].

A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.

The mind of him who has understanding seeks knowledge and inquires after and craves it, but the mouth of the [self-confident] fool feeds on folly.

All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil [by anxious thoughts and forebodings], but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of circumstances].

Better is little with the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord than great and rich treasure and trouble with it.

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it.

A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger appeases contention.

The way of the sluggard is overgrown with thorns [it pricks, lacerates, and entangles him], but the way of the righteous is plain and raised like a highway.

A wise son makes a glad father, but a self-confident and foolish man despises his mother and puts her to shame.

Folly is pleasure to him who is without heart and sense, but a man of understanding walks uprightly [making straight his course].

Where there is no counsel, purposes are frustrated, but with many counselors they are accomplished.

A man has joy in making an apt answer, and a word spoken at the right moment—how good it is!

The path of the wise leads upward to life, that he may avoid [the gloom] in the depths of Sheol (Hades, the place of the dead).

The Lord tears down the house of the proud, but He makes secure the boundaries of the [consecrated] widow.

The thoughts of the wicked are shamefully vile and exceedingly offensive to the Lord, but the words of the pure are pleasing words to Him.

He who is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live.

The mind of the [uncompromisingly] righteous studies how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the [consistently] righteous (the upright, in right standing with Him).

The light in the eyes [of him whose heart is joyful] rejoices the hearts of others, and good news nourishes the bones.

The ear that listens to the reproof [that leads to or gives] life will remain among the wise.

He who refuses and ignores instruction and correction despises himself, but he who heeds reproof gets understanding.

The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord brings instruction in Wisdom, and humility comes before honor. Proverbs 15

Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. That I may know HIM and the power of HIS resurrection and fellowship of HIS sufferings.

Has The Love of God In Christ Overwhelmed You To Joyful Obedience?

"The love of God compels us" - to praise with a heart of gratitude our Father in heaven for the gift of HIS SON our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. Receiving HIS mercy, grace, love and forgiveness for power to confess our sin under the Advocacy of Christ, love the brethren, submit one to another, discharge debtors, love our enemies, not to slander, not to boast, not to count others wrongs against them, to bless those who persecute us for righteousness sake, to mourn with those who mourn, weep with those who weep, rejoice with those rejoicing, to count others needs more important than our own, return good for evil.

Is God's love by the Spirit of Christ working in your heart? God's love in Christ is a mountain to a granule of sand toward any light affliction the world, the flesh or the devil could put upon you. Ask Joseph, Job, James or Paul, ask the prophets - if Paul called his afflictions light and momentary what is causing you great consternation, perplexity or trouble? The love and call of God led many that…"were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated (men of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves and holes in the ground. And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised…" Hebrews 11:37-39

Look at their inheritance as they were shown the path of life eternally so HIS GOSPEL could get come to us and reach our ear, penetrate our heart and reach every tribe, tongue and people group on earth. "YOU will show me the path of life and in YOUR presence is fullness of joy, at YOUR right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16:11

Are you abiding in Christ where fullness of joy has no dependence on circumstance but on God's love poured through HIS SON revealed by HIS SPIRIT?

Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. That I may know HIM and the power of HIS resurrection and fellowship of HIS sufferings. Grow in HIS love towards you through Jesus and trust HIM. May Christ be formed in our hearts.

What We Refrain from Saying Is Often More Important Than What We Say....

"He who conceals a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates intimate friends." Proverbs 17:9

Marriages, friendships and families are torn apart from slanderous accusations, gossip and unforgiveness. Constant repetitions of others mis-doings, failures and sin is rooted in pride, self righteousness and lack of revelation of the TRUE GOSPEL.

May we humbly speak directly to the individual and not cowardly when their back is turned with a heart to restore to Christ. May we not run from conflict but humbly enter in. (Galatians 6) May our ears not desire to hear slander for the scripture says that liars desire to hear slander and gossip. Proverbs 17:4

Proverbs 10:12 "Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs."

Proverbs 16:28 "A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends."

Proverbs 17:10 "A rebuke impresses a discerning person more than a hundred lashes a fool."

1 Peter 4:8 "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." God through Your Son Jesus you have loved us lavishly and at immense cost, YOU covered all our sin and laid upon HIM the iniquity of us ALL, may YOUR life and YOUR power abide in us to walk in love with a heart of gratitude, able to receive YOUR instruction, correction, grace and food, able to distribute and spread LIGHT in this dark world. May our words be seasoned with salt and may we refrain from words that create obstacles to seeing YOUR goodness so others desire and thirst for LIVING WATER! When I have sinned, fallen here, may I confess, repent, pursue reconciliation and restore in and through the power of YOUR SPIRIT and ADVOCACY.

THANKS be to GOD who gives us the VICTORY through our LORD JESUS CHRIST, that I may KNOW HIM and the power of HIS resurrection and fellowship of HIS sufferings! May we feast on YOUR flesh and partake of YOUR blood!

May Your Steadfast Love Grip Our Hearts and Renew Our Minds for Such A Great Salvation...

The mercy of God through Christ and HIS cross is the only place where salvation, justification, propitiation, forgiveness and reconciliation are possible. Our salvation depends solely on Jesus Christ alone, HIS crucifixion and resurrection for apart from this, there is no Advocate or Mediator between God and man. It is a work of God and HIS love man-ward that washes us, bring new life (new birth) through the very seed of HIS spirit. John 3. A man cannot make himself ‘born’, salvation is of the Lord and it must be an act of God! Then it is HIS work in us that produces works of repentance and keeping with repentance and faith in Christ alone! We don’t confess what we have done right, for our good works are as filthy rags, Isaiah 64:6, we confess what God did for us in Christ to make us right(Galatians 2:8-9; 6:14). Religious people do good deeds to be acceptable and this is impossible, (Isaiah 51:16/Hosea 6:6) nor what God desires. A broken and contrite heart, Psalm 51:17, is what God desires. True Christ followers are born from above by the Holy Spirit and are empowered out of grace received, forgiveness granted and loved lavished that we have been made acceptable to the Father through the Son alone! Romans 5:1; Eph. 2:8-9)–No one can boast at the Cross for in the Cross is our only boast for HIS GREAT WORK! Repentance comes from knowledge and faith that we have been accepted and reconciled through Jesus; works righteousness/self righteousness is pride believing we can make ourselves acceptable to God by what we do, Impossible! Salvation is of the LORD! Jonah 2:9

Real salvation is not you accepting the Lord but that in God's work through Christ, the Spirit reveals HE has made you acceptable through HIS blood and you know you need and have a RISEN ADVOCATE. Great News! Is there confirming joy that God has accepted you for if you possess this in your knowing place, it will roll through and out of your life like streams of LIVING WATER, a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving for all HE has done to make this possible! Obedience will be out of joy for the love of God Himself compels us in Christ, for it is from Him, through Him and to Him be glory forever!

Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, that I may know Jesus and the power of HIS resurrection and fellowship of HIS sufferings.

Are You Forgiven and Living in Joy? Is Peace Abiding in You?

The only thing Satan cannot do is receive the love of God for there is no love for him. Only wrath, condemnation and eternal judgment without mercy. Are you drinking in the love of Christ, being rooted and grounded in HIS cross, where your heart is healed, your head lifted, forgiveness granted, atonement provided, power endued, acceptance bestowed knowing you are reconciled with the Father through the Son?

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That HE would grant you, according to the riches of HIS glory, to be strengthened with might by HIS Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now unto HIM that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto HIM be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

Praise Be To God Who Gives Us the Victory Through our Lord Jesus Christ!

That I may know JESUS and the power of HIS RESURRECTION and FELLOWSHIP of HIS SUFFERINGS!

Proverbs 21:23 was thesis of Shepherd's Call last night.

Found this on dorm wall where I had taken friend of mine for discipleship training. I made a copy of it and we have been sharing it with our family and local brethren. If I would have read this 30 years ago and been admonished in it, would have saved me a lot of trouble….. I encourage you to read this with your family and discuss in prayer. Pray for us as we are going through these – at number 6 now. When we learn not to speak and why we also learn what we need to listen to or disregard which is most of our conversation. We are disciples of Jesus Christ; I am still learning and it is a lifelong process under HIS LORDSHIP. May Christ be conformed in you! Praise & thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
